Bollywood

Bollywood is the term used to refer to the film industry in Hindi.

This term was born between the merger of two names,Bombay and Hollywood,and the latter is the center of profusion of American films.

However,unlike Hollywood,Bollywood is not a real place,in fact,it contains most of the films produced in India and is one of the largest film production centers in the world.

The cinema arrives in India in 1896 and in 1931 a silent film is made where the background was provided by musicians present in cinemas that aroused in the public the desire to accompany in some way the rhythm of the music.

The first sound film came out in 1932 and in this period the film studios were born.

During the nineties the cinema is aimed at the youngest,in fact these films told the story of young lovers opposed by their families and the stories were set in beautiful homes.

One of the most famous faces of Bollywood’s Indian cinema was Devika Rani took part in many films that had as director Franz Osten as “Karma”,”Jawani Ki Hawa”,”Mamta”and many others.
